Well, I do have a problem with Atlassian Confluence in a company I work for. We, as any company, hire and fire people sometimes (mostly they are leave themselves). We use our Active Directory records to login in Confluence.
One of my colleagues leaved the company not so long ago, so his AD account not deleted yet (only blocked), but his page https://wiki.company.ru/display/~name.surname already returns "Page not found", instead of page with his user contribution page. I wrote in our support and they said that they cannot reconfigure this behaviour. Pages he created marked now "created by unknown user (name.surname)".
Is information from the company techsupport correct?
I do not ask to restore those pages, I want prevent this when somebody else will leave the company.
Hello,
Information regarding personal space is correct, and the workaround is to either create a local account with exactly the same username or ask the user to move any relevant content from their personal space to some other team space if the content in personal space is considered useful. Personal space is not actually removed, it's just inaccessible as the user associated with it is gone, so re-creating user with the same username would restore access to space. Hope this helps.
Regards,
Igor
