When creating from template, I want the new page under the page starting from

Karen Hayden June 13, 2019

I have a page to which I have added the Create from Template macro.  I have a user created template associated to that button.  when the user click the button to create a new page, I want that page to appear as a child page to the page from which I clicked the button.

  • Starting page (w/button)
    • New page created from template when button above selected

Seems like the new page is created under the root or home page of the space, not under the page where I started.  Is it possible to direct the Create from Template to create under a specific page in the identified space?

Yes, the macro is a bit weak, it does not take account of current page, or allow you to create from a named page.

There are a couple of macros in the marketplace that do do this, although the only one I know of is part of ThemeBuilder called "create child" (it's mostly the same as the built in one, but asks for a page to create under.  If left blank, it uses the current page)

Hi Karen,

If you are on Server, our Confluence app Page Tree Creator could be a solution. You find it on the Marketplace (link) and here are our LIVE EXAMPLES.
