Hi

I have trouble understanding the point of the Space Name when creating a Confluence site. The Space Key make sense, like https://myconfluencesite.com/spacekey But why do we need a Space Name? Its like a extra part of the spacekey like https://myconfluencesite.com/spacekey/spacename.

Maybe i am  missing something?

Hello,

Key is a short abbreviation of a space. Space name is a meaningful name of a space. It is the same like project key and project name in Jira.

Because humans like a natural language summary of the thing they're working on.

A short, unique, space key is very useful, but a description for it can be essential.  Imagine you've got a space for sharing stuff on your current project, and you work for a large organisation with naming conventions and a lot of existing spaces.  Does EX175EN describe "Our project for handling <thing>"?  No.  You want a short description for it as well as the key.
