What will happen to the Office Connector?

Will Office Connector get retired when the Atlassian Companion get's mor popular or

will it stay and be maintained as rederer for Office Documents?

As I recall the Office connector uses WebDAV and/or an addon to make editing available for certain browsers.

Of the current browser versions only IE supports the Office connector officially. Firefox doesn't work at all (Old plugin) & Chrome works but is not supported insight Confluence (Edit in Office is missing in file preview).

So you can make up your mind about future support...
