What versions and how can we upgrade 5.1.4 version of Confluence

We are looking to transfer one of our Confluence environments over to Microsoft Sharepoint to store archival data. Our license had expired long ago and we purchased a started license.  We are currently running an old version 5.1.4 Confluence.

Confluence is running on a Windows Servers 2012 R2 VM.  Database is on a SQL Server 2008R2

Our current solution for transferring Confluence will not work properly with the older version of 5.1.4 Confluence.

I need to confirm if we can upgrade with our existing systems, how and what version of Confluence?

You can upgrade to any version that was released before the expiry date of your current licence.

You can work that out from the dates on releases when you go to download Confluence and by looking at your licence.

For what it's worth, only ast week I moved from a 5.0 to a 7.4 release - there were very few apps installed, but it was possible to do in one step safely, no jumping through intermediate versions.
