What are integer IDs and how can they be changed?

My company's software uses a process that imports content from Confluence. We ran into a bug recently, reported by a customer on a separate account, where integer IDs longer than 32-bits will cause our importer to be "Unable to reach the server." We fixed the bug in our importer (caused by an exception thrown in our JSON deserialization code when it tried to convert the integer in the JSON file returned from Confluence into a C# integer), but we are now trying to reproduce the issue internally on our account for future bug regression. We cannot find any information on these integer IDs and how to increase their bit length. I attempted to create a space name with a maximum of 255 characters, but I was still not able to reproduce the issue on our end.

Any insights on what this integer ID is and how it is calculated? Is it managed by the Confluence server, or is there some special way to trigger "longer" integer IDs in space names/topics/etc? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi @Marvin and welcome to the community!

The deployment type you set for Conlfluence is for the cloud version, but yet you mention the server version. If you are using the cloud version of confluence, most likely you will not be able to do any modifications at all. I would suggest for you to contact Atlassian support for further help (support.atlassian.com).

Hi @Alex Koxaras -Relational-, thanks for your response. I could not submit a ticket directly to Atlassian support (it just kept routing me here to the community forums when I followed the instructions to submit a ticket) which is why I posted this thread.

I'm not really looking for an answer specific to our account as it currently exists, but rather how integer ID values could possibly be manipulated (if at all) from the customer side. And if not, any information I can find on what integer IDs are/how they are created/edited would be helpful.
