Webcertificate error when Confluence URL changes

Fabian Ledwig
September 12, 2013

Good morning,

we have now certified our confluence installation. Everything is okay, but if I click on subordinated Pages the URL changes from https://confluence.MYCOMPANY.dashboard.action to https://<CONFLUENCESERVER-IP-ADDRESS>/display/<SPACE1>... for example and Firefox shows a warning that the webcertificate is not valid for this page. If you continue nevertheless, it works. But not with the certificate.

Is there a setting to change the URLs?

Please check the base url of the your confluence instance in the general configuration section.

if you have configured IP the base url confluence, then please change it to domain name.

Yes, I don't access with IP by hand. Confluence changes automatically to IP if I click on Links or subordinated Pages in Confluence...?

I acces Confluence by domain name, the URL on the Confluence startscreen is on domain name.

But if I click on pages, they open automatically with IP...

Certificate applys for a domain name not for domain id. you have to access the url using domain name it self.

ex: confluence.company.com is domain name and certificate applies for the url accessing using domain name.

like https://confluence.company.com/abc ..etc.

if you access with IP it doesn't apply the certificate.
