I have tried to add Weblinks ...

DFS Shares needs to be linked but none of them work :::

- file:\\\\\domain.corp\ShareLink\Share

- file://aergo.corp/aergo-citadel/AER/

Can you please help with a way to Share a link on Confluence where another windows will open with the  "file://xxx.xx/yyy/" link.

Thanks

The proper way to do the file protocol link would be like this ...

file://///domain.corp/ShareLink/Share

Yes, you need five slashes. The first three are for the protocol file:///. The next two are for the UNC path. All the backslashes should be converted to slashes.

Here's the caveat this will only work for IE out of the box. It is the only browser that supports the file protocol by default. There is an extension for Chrome and another for Firefox that can enable it, but it won't work by default for anything other than IE.
