We would like to create a Wiki that connects to data from a database,can this be done?

Can we use confluence as a reporting system based in information in a database ie what was the average results etc.  We would like to use it to report on test work that has been completed on different deposits and show the statistical analysis of data for varying options, Is this possible to be automatically updated , so some one doesnt have to create a report  and then copy and past the data into the database continually?  We currently use confluence for some geology based wikis, but updating is done manually, and we would like to know how to make the process more efficient.
