Our Confluence server is 6.15.2 and yesterday it went down due to the OGNL hacker bug. We have spent two days now trying to upgrade the Confluence software to 7.13.0 with all sorts of issues migrating the MySQL database.
We've even created brand new Ubuntu servers, with the older Confluence version installed, up and running and still get errors trying to upgrade to 7.13.0.
The XML backup/restore functionality also reports errors. Seems we've run into a dead end.
Is our last chance to migrate the data, by manually copying a pasting ever page to a new server instance running 7.13.0?
We're stuck and our Confluence server is of no use as it is now.
What are the prerequisites if we would migrate to the cloud confluence? Our MySQL database, confluence export, or? We need to solve this quickly.
If you cannot upgrade confluence immediately, the quickest option for you is to try the temporary workaround mentioned in the article.
In that case, if you have the older version backup, you can still restore it and bring up confluence and apply the workaround. Once it is applied, you can then think of upgrade and then followup with Atlassian in case you are running into any issues.
If you want to migrate to cloud, you can read this article to know about the pre-migration and other things to consider.
