Hello,
one of our users has uploaded a corporate video guideline as an pdf file to confluence. If this pdf file is opened by the default file viewer of confluence, the videos included are not played. I you decide to download the file and open it in acrobat reader, everything is working fine.
I didn't find any topic about this issue and therefore I want to ask if this is by design or a bug?
We are working on Confluence 6.3.4 at the moment.
Kind Regards
Ingo
are the videos embedded from a web resource, say for example YouTube, or are the video files inside the PDF?
Videos inside PDFs are kinda exotic so there might be limitations I assume. But the documentation doesn't mention it.
As far I know the file preview plays MP4 video files.
See here for the documentation: Display Files and Images
Cheers
Niklas
Hi Niklas,
I'm not sure about this but it looks like the video file is included inside the pdf, there is not security warning about loading content from the internet.
I know that video files are working fine inside the viewer but inside the PDF they are not running. If it is not possible to make this running, the users have to download the file and use their local acrobat reader to view the file.
