Using UWC to migrate from 2.10 confluence to 4.3 confluence

Joseph VanQuakebeke September 13, 2012

We are moving from Linux to Windows and are on an old version of Confluence. To make the move easier and to clean up unused wiki workspaces, I was wondering if I can use UWC (Universal Wiki converter) to move workspaces from 2.10 running on Linux to 4.3 running on Windows. We will still use MySQL for the DB backend and Tomcat for the server.

Thank you

Joe

You could try, but better, I'd suggest just upgrading.

  1. Remove all spaces you don't want
  2. Migrate to the same Confluence version on Windows -- see https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Migrating+Confluence+Between+Servers
  3. Upgrade, jumping through several point releases. @Amalia Sanusi [Atlassian] suggests 2.10 --> 3.5.17 --> 4.3

I am working with the support team, but there are issues around the older DB. What we are going to do is do 2.10.3 -> 3.0 -> 3.5.16->4.3 upgrade path.

Thank you
