Users cannot see children displays

We use children displays on a number of pages. About a month ago, our users were suddenly unable to see the displays. As an admin, I can still see all of them. Everyone still has access to view the child pages, but the children display on the parent page is blank. We've tried removing the displays and re-adding them, having a non-admin user add the children display, but they are still blank. Has anyone else seen anything like this or have suggestions for other settings to check?
