Users have been setup with a Confluence account but have incorrectly entered their Full Name.
When they go into their Profile, and manage their profile, and attempt to click on the their "full name" to change it, they have an error pop up stating "Full Name is set by your admin"
I am an admin of our confluence, and I have no access to change users full name.
How can a user now amend their Full Name? is this a bug?
I'm pretty sure you need to manage their name via the user management settings rather than via a user's profile.
The centralised user management for Confluence / your Atlassian suite of products should allow you to change their names if you're a Site Admin.

Thanks @Inactive Stephen ,
I have attempted to make this change in the User Management Settings, but it doesn't allow me to make any changes to a users details.
I am only able to provide access to the suite of products, change their groups or reset password/remove user.
Can you confirm where in the User Management Settings you can update the Full Name of the user?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
I had another look through - looks like I wasn't accurate!
Users can edit their full name in their profile under their Atlassian account - when in their profile they can choose Manage Account and it should let them edit their name.
If it doesn't and remains greyed out - it might be because their accounts are managed via an external system - such as LDAP or via your email host if you use that login method (eg. logging in using Google).
In that instance the name would need to be changed and refreshed from there.
