Use Jira Datacenter as source for import in whiteboards?

Hi community!

I could not find any ticket in JAC or other posts about this.

We have a Confluence Cloud instance with an application link to a Jira Data Center instance.

When creating a whiteboard in Confluence we can "import for Jira". But it only seems to work for Jira Cloud instances.

Is this true and does anyone have a link to documentation or a feature request?

You're correct that the Jira import feature in Confluence whiteboards currently supports only Jira Cloud as a data source. The whiteboard integration uses Atlassian’s unified cloud APIs and product linking, which aren’t available for Jira Data Center or Server. Even if you have an application link configured between Confluence Cloud and Jira Data Center, that link only enables basic features like issue linking and smart cards—it doesn’t extend to whiteboard imports or syncing.
There’s no supported workaround to pull issues directly from Jira Data Center into Confluence Cloud whiteboards today.
