We are trying to create a stand-alone confluence portal where our marketing and communication depts alone can use this. I am given a full list of user profiles with all details in an excel file. How can I upload this into Confluence? Please help me

Hi Ramesh,

It's easy enough to convert an Excel file to CSV so we have two strategies I can think of. One is to use a CSV file to import the users to another Atlassian application, Crowd, by using the method described in Importing Users from CSV Files. You would have to authenticate via Crowd in that case, and it would add another application to the suite of apps you are supporting.

Another direction to go is to use the Confluence Command Line Interface (CLI) as documented on the Bob Swift wiki: How to Use RunFromCsv.

If you decide to go with the CLI strategy, please let us know so we can move your Question to the part of the forum where Bob Swift and Appfire hang out.

Thanks,

Ann
