We have hundreds of excerpts (and excerpt includes) that appear now lost. Is there anyway to recover the information, or will this restore automatically?
What is the reason this macro stopped working overnight from 5/31/2018 to 6/1/2018?
The excerpts are probably still there. It sounds like maybe the add-on module got disabled.
Thank you Davin, I think we're stuck not knowing how best to get these excerpts re-enabled. Is there a place I can figure out which add-on module disabled them to reverse it? or should I be talking with someone internal within my employer?

Your email domain has a lot of licenses associated with it (big company) so I could not determine which instance to verify the plugin is enabled. But to help your admins find it I went on my test site and took some screen shots:
