Hi,

I'm unable to view the Users Directory on my OnDemand Conlfuence instance. I would like to link the Users from my Jira account to my Confluence instance.

I am the administrator on both instances, but do not belong to the systems administrators group. Even though I'm the owner, I am unable to add myself to this group.

What do I need to do to get this working when I am the creator and owner of both these instances?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Hey Claude,

In OnDemand you will never be a System Admin, if you have a Confluence and a JIRA under the same instance all you need is to go to Applciation Access page and then choose the users you want to access your applications.

No if you have have a Confluence and a JIRA in different instances that is not possible.

Hope it helps.

Hi Deividi,

Thank you for your response. I am not making any progress with this issue...getting Jira and Confluence to work togethor seems much harder than what it's made out to be from your website.

I had a Jira instance before I signed up for Confluence. Because I added Confluence from https://my.atlassian.com/, I would have assumed Confluence would be added directly to my Jira account or instance. When I signed up for Confluence, it asked me for an instance name, which I thought was odd as I thought it would be added to my Jira instance automatically. I then first tried my Jira instance name or url as an input, where I was then told the instance name already exists. So I proceded with a different name...

So right now I am confused when you say " If I have a Confluence and a Jira in different instances". I was given no choice...

All I want is my Confluence and Jira to be one and the same or integrated with each other in order to use the two togethor seemlesly.

Making the sell to my organisation to adopt the atlassian suite and all of its addons like Confluence, Bamboo and Support Desk is very difficult when the add on process is so difficult.

I have gone to the Application Access page as you mentioned, but nowhere there do I have an option to connect Confluence to a User. I can only Revoke Acccess for a user or add a Group to a user.

Would this not be easier if you guys improve the addon process or if your technical team could just connect my two instances on the back end?

Thanks.

In that case my advice is for you to raise a ticket to our OnDemand support team so they can validate your scenario and why you are not able to add the users trough application access.

Thanks and Regards,
