Specific login error is:

I have entered all my usual passwords multiple times and I am surely getting the capture word correct.
Reset error:
"Sorry, you can't retrieve your password as no email service has been configured for Confluence. Please contact your administrators for assistance."
Is my account locked and it's not telling me? I don't understand how NO passwords can be working.
What can I do to regain access please? I am the admin.
It is likely that the user directory system has failed. You should be able to tell from the logs what is wrong (even if it's not that) - see <confluence home>/log/atlassian-confluence.log
