Our Atlassian MCP is federated to Azure AD and uses the Azure Login to generate the Access tokens. Is there any possibility that I can use the Microsoft Teams access token and using token exchange, generate a Atlassian MCP access token as both platforms use Azure AD in the background?

HI @Giridhar Sripada ,

Haven't come across specific documentation on it. The only thing I found is this documentation:

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/appsonazureblog/get-started-with-atlassian-rovo-mcp-server-in-azure-sre-agent/4497122

Since you are on enterprise, you might want to raise a ticket or follow up with your Atlassian enterprise advocate( I forget exact the title but usually there's a direct contact).

Hey @Giridhar Sripada ,

You could also try checking this in Atlassian Rovo MCP Server forum group. A bit more experts for MCP are in there. But as Benjamin said, the easiest way could be to reach out to Support team and confirm with them.

To my knowledge, each platform (Microsoft and Atlassian) maintains its own OAuth client registrations, scopes and consent flows. Issued tokens are audience and scope-specific, and are probably not interchangeable or exchangeable between the systems, but I didn't explore this area that much to be 100% sure about this 🤔

Cheers,
Tobi
