The div macro has a title field which will display as tool tip.

My Version: Confluence 5.7

I used the span macro, which displays inline, more like a real tooltip.

Hi Martin,

You can try the Handy Tip macro (one of the macros bundled in the Handy Macros app) to create tooltips using rich text.
