Task Lists not visable after being migrated from Confluence Server to Cloud

Infrastructure April 11, 2023

We are testing migrating Confluence Server spaces to the Confluence Cloud.  We found that Task Lists are not being migrated. It shows as:

Incomplete tasks from meetings

Task report

Looking good, no incomplete tasks.

There are pages of tasks that are missing.

I was able to resolve this on my own.

Basically, recreate the action items on Cloud post migration.  They will start showing up in the task report.

May have to do with users showing up as "unlicensed user" post migration in pages.

Steps to Fix:

  • Recreate the action item using [ ] in the legacy editor.
    • Use / action for the Fabric Editor.
  • Re-add the user to the action item.

The Task Report will start to populate.

Hi there,

Just a quick question. So you manually recreated all the tasks on your Confluence Cloud?

Big thx for the feedback.

Kind regards,

Dirk

@Dirk De MalYes, recreate the tasks manually in Confluence Cloud.

Very welcome!

Hi there,

Found another solution that worked perfectly.

You take a copy of the page where the tasks were before. And lord and behold Confluence picks up all the previous tasks on that page. Guess that when you take a copy of a page and put it in the same space, Confluence Cloud rechecks and reindexes and the tasks reappear :-)

Kind regards,

Dirk
