Hi,
We are planing on publishing a KB on our Confluence server with Jira ServiceDesk but we don't want to expose our Confluence server to the internet.
Our plan is to create a new instance for Confluence and we want to sync only the relevant KB spaces to the server that will be in our DMZ.
Is there a way to do this? I did see an old post that requires to purchase an add-on for this. I'm trying to see if there's a free solution for this.
Thanks
Because the page is loading from within the Service desk and doesn't require me to publish the confluence server we won't be installing a second server after all
Thanks for the recommendation
Hi, we have the same problem. How did you achieve yout goal?
I mean, we also run an internal confluence and a public available service desk but our problem is, that when you integrate both instances and search for a KB article, the article gets found also with a preview.
But as soon as you click on it to open the KB article in the servicedesk portal popup, the client tries to open the article via internet and therefore runs into a timeout because the confluence is ofc not reachable via internet.
Changing firewall settings for that particular space in confluence is also not a solution for us so I'm very interested in how you achieved the communication. And maybe you can tell which addon you tried to use as a workaround/ backup plan before you maged to get it working?
Best regards
Christoph

There is a free solution, but that is to:
So that is a pain to do more than a few times. So the paid plugin is still the best route to go. Or you have to write a script to achieve the same function (again, takes time to develop).
