I created a page for a new project (or space) within my own personal space. I would like for that page to become a new project (or space) page, not connected to my own personal space.

Is there a way I can have this child page of my own become a default landing space for a new project?

Hi Jason,

Welcome to Atlassian Community. It's nice to have you join us!

It's not currently possible to create a space within a space, so I believe that you are referring to a page you created within your personal space. Is that right?

If so, you only need to create a new Confluence space, and then move that page into it. You can even set that page to be the new homepage for that space.

The process would be as follows:

  1. Create your new space in Confluence.

  2. Move your new page to the space you created. See Move, Copy, and Hide pages for more information.

    1. Navigate to and view the page you want to move.
    2. Click Move.  The Move page dialog box appears.
    3. Click Search in the left panel of the Move page dialog box.
    4. Enter the new parent page name, make sure All Spaces is selected, and click Search.

(info) Keep in mind that the results are filtered to the spaces to which you have access.
    5. Select the Reorder check box if you want to move the page to a different position amongst the child pages (when you choose Move in the next step, you'll be able to reorder the page).
    6. Choose Move (If you're reordering the child pages, choose the new position for the page and choose Reorder).
    7. The page – along with any attachments, comments, and child pages – will move to your chosen location. Confluence automatically adjusts any in-app links to point to the new location.

  3. Lastly, set the new page as your space homepage, if you desire. See Set up your space homepage for details.

    1. Click on the space name in the navigation, and click  Space Settings

       to open the Overview tab
    2. Choose Edit Space Details.
    3. Enter the page you want use in the Home page field then choose Save.

I hope that helps, but let me know if you have any trouble at all!

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon, I'm new to Confluence and I'm struggling with point 3.  I can't change the home page to reflect the page I want.  When I try to edit the space details - it's restricted.

Could you help please?
