Yes, this is still a problem. I solve it by editing the HTML source code using add-on Confluence Source Editor.

Yes, it was SO much easier with wiki markup. What I do now is a real hack. I make a copy of the table and then delete the appropriate rows from each copy until I get what I want. It shouldn't have to be this way.
