Software Project list doesn't update in confluence

Guy Walker

When I create a new project in Jira, i usually want to go and create a confluence software space to go with it.

When i do Create space in confluence, and create software project space, the new project does not appear in the drop down.

I cannot seem to find any way to get confluence to resync its project list with Jira to pick up the new project. If i leave it a week, generally i think the project appears in the list and i can create the space...but i don't want to wait a week!

How can i force the update, does anyone know?

I answered this myself. In fact Confluence will pick up the JIRA project list of all projects that you have Issue Creation rights. So despite having admin privs to the project, including browsing rights, because I did not have issue creation rights the project was not listed in confluence. (i guess confluence checks if the issue create shortcut will work?)

If you are using crowd, you might need to sync the user directories in Jira and Confluence for both to pick up any changes to group permissions you make to give yourself issue creation rights.
