Is there a way of sharing several pieces of small text from one page to another?
When you change one piece of text on one page, it automatically changes on the other.
I tried the excerpt macro, but don't seem to be able to share than more than 1 piece of text and can't give the excerpt a name.
Does anybody has a good solution fo this?
Regards,
Michel
You've hit the right idea - this is exactly what the excerpt macros are for. The built-in one only supports fetching one excerpt from each source page (so you can have say 30 excerpts on a page, but each macro will have to point at a different page).
Also, if you're happy to have your snippets on their own single pages, the "include page" macro can do the same.
There is a multi-excerpt macro in the marketplace, which does exactly what it says on the tin - you can flag many things on one page as for excerpting elsewhere.
Finally, you're not expected to give excerpts a name - they're supposed to be a seamless part of the page you add them to. If you want to highlight or name them, it's up to you to wrap them in something that changes their highlighting.
This is the exact use case for the multi-excerpt macro. I highly recommend it. In some cases, I place all of my excerpts on a page at space root level (so it doesn't show up in the left-hand nav panel). Makes it easier to maintain.
