I love the Confluence Database and are using it to embed specific entries in other pages however I would like the option to select the view to embed and not the entire DB row.
Setup:
Why:
Example:
I am on the same boat. Formatting is really not very useful, and what is the point of embedding a view on a page, when the user can select all other views of the DB. I would rather be able to embed the data from a database as a regular table in confluence, which would also allow using that table in other macros.
+1. I am finding that the concept is great, but the styling of the /embed is poor. For a single entry from a database with two columns, the result is large and has excessive whitespace:
Whereas I would really like to be able to simply /embed something like
WRN-002 not a good idea
(simply the two values that comprise the one entry).
It would also be amazing to be able to use the /embed macro inside other macros (like /info etc).
And using it inside a table with each value being inserted into consecutive cells of the table as intuitive would be splendid.
Unfortunately, I cannot find any freedom to change the formatting/styling of the entry.
Sorry this doesn't help you - just moral support from another user!

Agreed, Would like to see a way to insert a field value without any "fluff". I guess it would be OK to link to the database, but I want to use this for defining roles in our organization with just one place to update it when someone else takes the role.

t would be useful if the card layout at least showed the details of the column that was used to search for the row that's been found.
We don't want to show all the fields of the database table as the whole thing becomes really slow. However it would be good if we didn't have to put the ID that we searched for in a different column on the table. If you select the ID field to show then you don't get the preview option and if you then click you only see the ID. So the field selection option seems to be really limited. It would be better if instead of clicking a field it was possible to click a view and on that view it's then possible to limit the the fields shown.
I'm also not sure what the value of writing "Confluence Databases" is, it isn't a link to the database itself. Just seems to be an FYI
