1) When I look at User Directories in both Jira and Confluence, we have both the internal directory listed as well as our corporate AD server (Read Only, with Local Groups).
In Confluence, one of our users wants to select AD groups when assigning permissions to a page, rather than type individual names.
I don't see the AD groups anywhere and it looks like we may not really sync our AD groups, is that correct ?? (AD is configured as read-only, with local groups)
I don't want to edit our AD groups, only apply them to page permission.
Thanks Jamie for your response. The groups in that article aren't exactly same as what I meant. The groups mentioned in that article refer to groups stored in the Internal directory of Confluence. confluence-adminstrators is a default group within Confluence itself.
We have an external Corporate AD that we sync with and I just realized we do not sync those external AD Groups because they are managed externally, and therefore, they are not available in the list of groups.
Hi Darin
In our organisation we use AD groups to limit the scope of users who can login due to licensing constraints etc. In order to assign a group to a space or be used via page restrictions you need to add the group via global permissions. You need to be a Confluence admin to access this.
Have a look at the following documentation https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf610/global-permissions-overview-952622945.html if you need clarification.
Regards, Jamie
