Hello,
We are considering purchasing confluence for document management and wiki. We have a requirement where we need to be able to security trim a page or document based on user's permissions. We want to create a page and have the save information display differently for a user based on their permission. Is there a way to do that in confluence ?
thanks in advance.
Hello @Groove crew!
Confluence security stops at page level so it doesn't natively provide the functionality you're looking for. I can, however, think of a couple of methods to achieve your goal.
1. Use excerpts from secured pages for the content you want to make visible to only particular users. Those without access to the pages from which excerpts are pulled will only see the unrestricted content on the "open" page.
2. Use an add-on like one of these to add in-page content security to your instance
These add-ons range in price and features so hopefully you can find one that suits your needs and budget if the first option doesn't work for you.
Hope this answers your question - if it does, please click the "Accept Answer" button so others see that it has been in their search results and can benefit from the answer too.
Cheers,
~~Larry Brock
