Scriptrunner or Automation: Check page for children and add label on page?

Erin Manuel

I want to add a label to Confluence pages if they have child pages. Basically, all parent pages need a label applied.

IF: page has child -> THEN apply label to page
WHEN: page no longer has children -> remove label

There is no specific page title or content I can target on parent pages since we have various uses in our space.

Is there a way to do this with Automation or Scriptrunner?

I have been trialing Scriptrunner, which I think can do what I'm asking, but unfortunately, my coding skills are not up to par for such a custom script.

I did figure out a script after lots of trial and error. Problem solved.
