SSL Certificate from Certificate Authority

Bill Greer September 5, 2018

I am going to purchase a wildcard SSL Certificate from a trusted vendor that I can use with my Confluence instance and also some IIS subdomains on the same server.  From the Confluence documentation that I have read the process starts with creating a local certificate and then generating a certificate signing request.  My question is does it matter if I start this process in IIS or using the Java keytool?  Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I want to be sure I can use the wildcard certificate with both IIS sites and the Confluence Apache site.

You should be able to sue your wildcard cert with both IIS sites and Confluence. Doesn't matter which one you do first.

Just make sure all the intermediate certs are also referenced when you do it for Confluence.
