Can you get integration to work between JIRA and confluence even if the JIRA isn't accessible from the internet?

And can you get integration to work with hosted hipchat and non accessible from the internet confluence install?

The route matters, not the whole internet.  If Confluence can see JIRA and vice-versa, then you can integrate them.  But you have to have a route between them.

That route could be over the internet, but it could be because they're on the same machine, or the same network (so they can see each other, but the local network doesn't have to be on the internet), or you have a dedicated link between them via a vpn or even a simple network cable (don't laugh at that one - I'm old, and have worked in places that have done it)

It's the same for hipchat/confluence - do you have a route between them?
