Restriction editing to a single table format on a page in confluence cloud

Rob Geritano
July 10, 2024

In order to truly manage content and its formatting edit restrictions need to be able to be put on a table format within a page or a pages structure where content can be edited but not the structure.  Is there a way to do that or is there a plan to implement similar functionality?

Hi @Rob Geritano

You can create a Confluence Database, use text only entries (or whatever floats your boat :) ) and then use the database macro on a page to display that very database.

That way, users will be able to edit the database (which is basically a table) but they will not mess with the rest of the page.

(Edit: there's also an app that allows users to edit tables without entering the Edit mode but I have no experience with that).
