It appears that my organization, bitwisebro.atlassian.net, was deleted due to inactivity. I have since created a new organization using the same name.
I was wondering if it’s possible to restore or recover the data from the previous instance of the organization. Any guidance or clarification on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hey @Gaurav Jani ,
Atlassian has retention policies for free and paid subscriptions.
As stated in the official support docs:
Your app’s data is retained for 15 days (for free subscriptions) or 60 days (for paid subscriptions) after cancellation. If you reactive your subscription within this data retention period, your app's data and preferences will be restored.
At the end of the data retention period, your app’s data will be permanently deleted and can’t be recovered. Read our Data Storage FAQs for more information.
In short, if you were able to create a new site using the same subdomain (in your case, "bitwisebro"), it's most likely that the original site was deleted together with all data.
I will reach out to the Forum support team to additionally check and confirm this, but again, most likely you won't be able to recover this. 😕
Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @Gaurav Jani
We are sorry to hear your data was deleted.
Even though restore are not supported, I have checked internally to see if this could be still possible for your site.
At this time, on our internal tools, it seems the option to recover data for your site is no longer available or possible. I'm afraid we cannot help restoring any data at this point. :(
If you have any backups done though, you can use it to upload to your new Confluence product. If you need any help with this one, please let us know.
If you don't have one, we highly recommend taking regular backups, in case anything happens to your data, regardless if this is a on Free plan or paid plan.
Regards,
Jessica
