Resolved comment should stay highlight in Confluence

Am I the only that believe that a resolved comment in Confluence should stay highlight but in green instead of Yellow so that when other people review the same text they have access to the comment that was posted?

Going thru Resolved comment doesn't tell you where in the text that comment was pointed out, and not seeing that a comment was already resolved can make other reviewer/reader add the same comment that was already answered and resolved .....

To some extent, it makes sense, but there are a few downsides/questions:

  • It would definitely make pages more cluttered and harder to read in some cases
  • You would have to figure out how to deal with overlapping comments
  • You would have to decide how to handle dangling comments (comments that were resolved by their text being changed/deleted

That's probably not everything, but there are definitely some things that make this a bit more complicated.

Even if it wasn't displayed by default, but you had the possibility to see a copy of the page with the resolved comments shown in green, would that be something you would be interested in?

Absolutely, of even if resolved comment would only be with a special underline, to make it not to cluttered.

Dangling comment could stay in resolved comment has if text was change /delete comment may not applied anymore.

I only trying the resolved the fact that we see over time that we resolved a comment and then, somebody new raise the same question again ... when all the answer was already there in the previous comment thread ....
