We have one instance of confluence running with 10 user license.
There was a plan to setup new confluence hence we purchased 50 user license for new confluence .
But as per the current scenario the new confluence installation need is no more .
Can we merge 50 user new confluence license with the existing 10 user license.
10 user existing + 50 user new = 60 user license ( Can it possible ?
Hi Varsha,
no, you can't merge two licenses into one. I think, you can use the 50 user license in your 10-user-installation (so you have 50 licensed users, not 60), but then, your additional apps (if you have any) have to be upgraded also.
Hi Thomas ,
Thanks for your quick response.
I got your point . As per your reply team has decided to update the existing confluence license with 50 user .
As per the atlassian portal for the new instance license we have to provide the server ID the it will generate the license , hence I have provided the existing confluence server id and got the key .
Now the issue is as per senior management decision we have to do the new confluence installation .
So can I update the server id of new confluence in atlassian portal ?

Hi Varsha,
sorry, I haven't seen your second question. Do you keep your Confluence database and just do a new installation of the application server? Then the server ID stays the same, since it is hold in the database. You don't need a new server ID.

Hi Thomas ,
Since I have updated the serverId of the running confluence instance for the new license . But i have done the new instance confluence installation with new database .
So can i update the new serverId of new instance in my.atlassian.com/products/index ? so that the license can be mapped to the new serverID.

Hi Varsha,
Since this is becoming a licensing problem now, I think, you should ask Atlassian support directly regarding this question:

Thank you
