Preformated text converted to the new Editor looks strange

For the documentation of a programming reference I used in the legacy editor the preformat-option to have the possibility of working links. When converting to the new Editor the links are gone (and sometimes even the link text!) and the text is shown in real small letters and cannot be restored to the normal size.

Is there a way to preserve the links and just have a normal code font?
I need to convert several hundreds of these lines!!!

@Ute Dwenger

When the content in Confluence was created was it pasted into the legacy editor from something like Word?  If that is the case it is most likely parsing out the Word based HTML.

The content was created long time ago by importing html-files to the legacy editor in Confluence Server. The preformatted content was shown within the included HTML Source Editor using just the <pre> and </pre> tags. After migrating to cloud the content is still looking fine with the legacy editor but as the source editor is gone, I cannot see the underlying HTML content used for the conversion.
