Pre-render HTML in a template

Hi everyone.  very green in the use of Confluence, but working my way through it.  I've created a template that includes HTML to display check boxes for the user to indicate an action.  This works great when the page is saved and displayed, but what I'm looking to do is have it appear this way when the user performs a "Create New" from the Template.
Currently, when the new instance of the template appears, the raw HTML is what is visible, and my concern is that users may inadvertently modify the HTML and break the functionality.
Is there a way to have the HTML pre-rendered when the template loads for use?
