PlantUML diagram not rendering

I had some diagrams on Confluence that were generated using the PlantUML macro. The rendering seems to have stopped working today or recently. The pages display this error

Error rendering macro 'plantuml'

javax.imageio.IIOException: I/O error writing PNG file!

Hi Sanjay!

The "I/O error" seems to indicate Confluence is having trouble writing to the filesystem. This may be some sort of permissions issue. Do you know if there have been any changes or restarts to Confluence recently?
