Password Reset Not Working - Confluence

I'm trying to reset a user password by clicking on the email link. I then go to reset password but i get an error

'Internal Error Occurred when trying to change the password'

I've tried again and again but going round int he same loops.

Hi,

Which user directory does the affected user belong to? It's important to know what permissions Confluence has with the directory as a read-only permission will not allow users to update their passwords (as expected since it's a read-only directory). We're currently tracking this behavior in the following feature request as Confluence should throw a more graceful and clear error message when this issue occurs:
