Hello, community.

I had a free confluence space with important instructions and documentation and I'm afraid it was deactivated because of inactivity. However I'm sure that have used it a few months ago. And I haven't received inactivity warning emails about this. So I'm a bit unsure about the problem.

Could I or support restore my data?

p.s. I cannot write to support because it's free account and I don't have 'reactivate-subscription' option, there are no subscriptions in my billing (https://support.atlassian.com/subscriptions-and-billing/docs/reactivate-a-subscription/)

Site details:

  • Site URL: pira.atlassian.net

  • Product: Confluence Cloud

Thanks in advance!

Hey @piter77,

Apologies for the delay... Based on this:

It looks like my entire space is gone, without any notification

Are you saying that only one space is missing, or the whole site is missing? If we're talking about the whole site, you should have gotten something like this in your email inbox:

*cannot attach screenshot for some reason

Title

[Action Required] Jump back in to Confluence to keep your subscription

Sender

noreply@po.atlassian.net

Body

Hi <name>,

We haven't seen you use your Jira app, on <sitename>.atlassian.net, for a while, so we wanted to check in. If you do not start using your app, it will be deactivated on 2026-07-24. This will not affect other apps that you are actively using.

Alternatively, you can use the following channel Atlassian Support: Pricing, Billing & Licensing > select Your Account > Reactivate subscription and fill out the required info. This will create an official ticket for the team so they can check it out.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @piter77 ,

On top of what German said, there's a really good article/guide made by Trudy for these particular cases: Atlassian Jira/JSM/Confluence Free Tier Inactivity & Data Deletion Timeline 👈

I'd suggest taking a look there. You should also find all relevant links and info related to site deactivation and/or deletion.

Cheers,
Tobi

Thanks!

I have looked into this, but I’m still a bit confused. For example: I did not receive any warning emails

Apparently it indeed was a permissions problem, thanks for the hint!

The original creator also cannot seem to be able to actually send a support ticket (we're at day 62 now 😢 😭).
