Is there a way to add a table of contents that stays sticky on the left (or right) of a page? Like in Word:
Or in Adobe Reader:
I've been using the Table of Contents in confluence but w/o the sticky part it's not a useful. I have to constantly scroll to the top. The left hand or right hand TOC in word & reader is very useful.
Hi, @Mike D_. Not exactly like Word or Adobe Reader, but you should be seeing something close to what you expect by default. However, it will be a page tree only (no child page headings for example).
My example is not very interesting (sorry), but you'll get the idea:
Hope this helps, but I suspect you know this already and are looking for something better?

I do. I want my TOC for the page to be on the right or left & to be sticky. For example, if I scroll way down, I still want to see the TOC (on the right or left)
Thanks Dave!

Sorry for the very late reply, @Mike D_
Unfortunately, that's simply not possible. Sorry to disappoint you.

Hi @Mike D_
There is an open request for Atlassian to create a Navigation Panel: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-78687
There is also a request with more votes for enabling a floating TOC: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-72545
I want this feature so badly!!

If you want to do it inpage, use the Layouts, and pick one with multiple columns. I like to use the two column one with a narrow right side. You can put the T0C macro or Child Page macro there and it will stay on the top of the page.
Here is an example where I have the child display in the right side of the page layout. As always there are trade offs, play with it and see if it works for your needs.

I want it to be sticky to the scroll! If I'm 10 page scrolls down, I don't want to have to scroll back to the top.
Thanks Shawn!

ah, for it to also be sticky, you will either need to go old school, and in the cloud I'm not sure how successful you will be, or use an addon. There are a number of addons in the Marketplace that can help with stickynesses, I don't have a favorite.
If you want to go old school, you need to edit the HTML of the page and add a div. This is a trick that works on server, you would need to test it on Cloud.
