Page tree Macro in New editor of confluence cloud

Hi, 
Happy to receive some explanation on page tree macro. I'm using confluence cloud and  from the new editor experience, i am able to see the page tree macro . 

1. How it works ?
2. How is it different from the children display ?
3. What is the role of page tree in sidebar of confluence ?

Hi Haran!

I'm a big fan of the Page Tree macro, and I use it all the time in my Confluence spaces. Hopefully, I can help answer some of your questions.

1. "How it works ?"
   For full usage information about the page tree macro, I recommend checking out the official documentation here: Page Tree Macro.
   
2. How is it different from the children display ?
   For my personal use cases, I've found the the Page Tree Macro much more versatile than Children Display, and have never found a situation where I opt to use Children Display. The main features exclusive to the Page Tree macro has that make it a first choice for me:
   • Collapsible descendants
   • Can include a page tree search above the page tree
3. "What is the role of page tree in sidebar of confluence ?"
   The sidebar page tree is for navigation, but it will only show either the page tree for the entire space, or for the current page (depending on how its set). The Page Tree macro has several customizable settings to show more diverse page trees (e.g. trees for another page, trees with descendants automatically expanded)
