Online Help Integration

Hi,

I had a question about Confluence. We are looking to use Confluence as our online help portal for the software we provide. Is is possible, to restrict access to this online help (because it will contain confidential information) without requiring each person who will access it from creating a user? For example, any one clicking on the online help icon from our application will be allowed to access the confluence page.

You could use some simple check to prevent unauthorized access without requiring a login. For example, you could add a token or other HTTP header value to the links coming out of your product that the Confluence site might check against. If the request lacks that token, then you don't allow access. This could easily be hacked, though.

You need users only for restricted content. For example, you can give anonymous access to everything and then restrict certain spaces or pages. Users will have to login to see those spaces/pages.
