Office Word (ViewDoc) does not show images

dtappe June 4, 2013

Anyone know how to get the viewdoc (Office Word) macro to display images?

Using Office 2010 to create a document. Attach that document to a page (Confluence On Demand). Use the Office Word macro (ViewDoc) to view the attachment.

Text shows up correctly, but none of the images show up. I have tried small images (95x95) and large ones, bitmaps (BMP) and PNG.

FYI... It used to work on a local v4.0.3 confluence.

Thank You!

Per Atlassian Support:

Hi Dan,

That seems to be related to a recent bug with the latest Office Connector version that we're tracking at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-29472. I've tested this locally and can confirm the behavior you're experiencing. At this moment, I'm afraid there's no workaround available for OnDemand instances, but our developers are already investigating it and will fix it as soon as possible. To keep track of the process, please keep an eye on that bug report. Also, feel free to add comments to it.

Sorry for not being able to help you further with this, but if there's anything else I can assist you with, just let me know.

Cheers,

Are you saving your Word doc as a .doc or a .docx file? This problem is normally resolved by saving them as .doc files. Cheers.

I have tried both .doc and .docx. Both seemed to give the same behavior.
