Nothing happens when inserting a macro

When i try to insert a macro in a confluence page nothing happens.

I open the macro browser select e.g. the macro Children pages.

The preview looks good. The children pages are shown.

When i click on insert the macro browser closes but the macro will not be inserted in the page. 

The buttons "update" and "cancel" (bottom of the page) are disabled after this. i can reload the page but the macro is still not inserted.

Have somebody any ideas?

Can you let me know if this had worked in the past? What version of Confluence are you running?

In order to proceed, we will need to see what's happening in the logs. 

Please tail your Confluence Logs and attempt to insert again, and let us know what error occurs.
