Need help with customizing header to a space.

Hi,

Need help with customizing header to wiki homepage. Would like to create links to subspaces and display it  in the header eg . dropdown for departments ie. HR, Engineering etc.

While Editing the space, under the (+) icon select the given option  insert more content->other macros-> expand textbox and dragged it  in the title bar.

However after publishing the space it does not appear to be in the correct format.

Do we need to use CSS ?

From my understanding, you're attempting to add macros into the title bar of your Confluence instance? Macros can only be inserted into the pages themselves.

If you wish to add some drop-down menus in Confluence, then you'll need to use an add-on for that. I believe SubSpace Navigation for Confluence might be exactly what you're looking for.
