My profile picture keeps reverting

My personal profile picture keeps reverting to its old picture:

Everytime I upload a new picture, it is fine for that day, but then at about 2 in the morning each day, it reverts back to the old picture.

I notice a line in the activity log saying that the picture was updated, and searching the image name in the page search bar, I see a message under the search result saying "Synchronized by UPC (grfzl)". Clicking on the result just brings me to my profile page.

I did have a previous account with a different name on this server (the old profile pic is under that name)

Our in-house IT department cannot seem to resolve this issue.
