MultiExcerpt Include Macros Do Not Get Included In Pages

Robert Delwood April 16, 2019

Sometimes several of my MultiExcerpt Include macros do not render in the pages, PDF, or HTML output. The error message is "MultiExcerpt named 'XXX' was not found. The page: YYY was found, but the multiExcerpt named 'XXX' was not."

The page and the MultiExcerpt are there. Forcing an update works temporarily to render it, but it occurs later.

Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?

Hello there!

It seems that this is a known error with Artemis MultiExcerpt macro. I was able to find this report on their system:

MEPOD-5

MEPOD-6

Also, check if your MultiExcerpts are not inside other macros. This is a behaviour present in Server, but could be present in Cloud as well:

CMEP-66

There does not seem to be a workaround to this for the time being.

Looking forward to your reply!

Thanks for confirming this. You'd think having a macro that doesn't work would make it more of a priority than "MInor."

They are sometimes in another macro such as Table Of Content Zone. At any rate, this problem shows inconsistently.

Do you know of any replacements?

Hey there Robert!

Maybe try posting your thread on their issue is a good idea.

Regarding options to this macro. We do have some plugins that may do what you need. You can check them here:

Include Content by Keysight Technologies

projectdoc Toolbox for Confluence by smartics

Linchpin Personalized Content by //SEIBERT/MEDIA
